{EAV_BLOG_VER:ea3d7bc61845a126} I have been really busy recently so I appologise for my lack of posts. I've been working with the starting of my new company MesaRO LLC. MesaRO has been around for over a decade in many forms. At first it was an MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) I created at 13 years of age that ran for many years. The game and my services evolved and I pioneered micro payments before it was a buzzword. I learne...

So let's say you have a lot of iPhone, Android, or other smart-phone traffic. One of the things I'm asked a lot more than I should is this: how do I call a phone number via a hyper-link <a>. It's actually really simple. For those who don't know we can already send e-mails using the mailto: hyper-link directive.
font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; color: rgb(34, 34, 34); background...

CSV files are the life-blood of corporate america. They are easy to use, easy to make, and easy to modify. They import into almost every spreadsheet program ever made allowing them to be used by a varity of people. When making webpages a common request is the ability for the end-user to be able to import a CSV file. Recently I implemented a CSV import in a controller action on rails in order to allow users to bulk-create mobile sites on GoMobile the mobile web ma...

Today at 10pm on ABC 15 (KNXV-TV) I will be on a segment about hacking and security. My experience recording the segment was quite nice. It took a bit of time but was an easy process and Kirk Yuhnke who interviewed me made the process quite enjoyable (the camera man, whos' name I forgot, was also a really nice guy). Please take a few moments if you can and check that out. I'm pretty excited to see how I did. Oh, I also did a live hacking (basic SQLi...

For those who don't know me well I am a, as I'd like to say, "technology enthusiast". Basically, I love 0's and 1's. I love the latest gadgets and I love the latest computer talk. My whole life has been filled with computers and I love working with them more and more each day (usually).
With that out of the way, what does this have to do with hacking? Well, you see a few years ago when I was 13 or so I played a LOT (I really do mean a lot) of c...

Zombiegone has been on the app store for about 2 weeks now. We've had one patch for some font fixes and our first content patch is coming. So what can we expect in the future of the game?
First off we can expect more levels.
Early in the development of Zombiegone it was decided that a story should be told -- without words. A simple narrative of your progress through our zombie ridden world. Current with only a single level Zombiegone has a lot of growth room...

Well it seems the majority of the delay with whack-a-zombie was actually the name. Apple decided it's too close to Whac-A-Mole and told me to rename the game if I wanted it included into the iPhone store.
So I did, after some thought and a lot of messing around with names we decided on zombiegone. It has a kinda hip post-modern feel to it, it's all lower case look and it's red bloody in-game text make it stand out well enough against the endless rash of othe...

For those of you who do not know my programming background (since I was a lil' kid) has been primarily in creating video games. My biggest and best (selling) project so far has been MesaRO, which is now closed, but helped propel me into my current skills and abilities regarding programming. Currently I've been working on a game for the iphone, PC, Mac, and 360 called Whack-A-Zombie. The current incarnation of the game is simple but will be massively expanded via DLC (mostly free...

So in php you could use this cool method to check if other methods existed, namely, method_exists.
You'd use it something like this:
bool method_exists ( mixed $object , string $method_name )
So playing around in rails (as I often do) I was faced with a problem -- I needed method_exists. I tried doing things like method? checking class refs all that jazz, in the end it all seemed way too complicated. I felt like ...
